I’ve always been a fan of workouts that don’t require a gym membership or a lot of fancy equipment. So when I recently purchased a 15-pound kettlebell, I decided to explore what it could do for me at home. I started looking for workouts online and stumbled upon Juice & Toya on YouTube. After watching a few of their videos, I got hooked. Then I fell down the rabbit hole of YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, where I found even more creative kettlebell exercises.
That’s when I said, why don’t I combine everything I’ve learned into one routine? So, I created my own full-body workout that feels challenging but totally doable.
Here’s what my routine looks like right now:
- Goblet Squats
- Deadlifts
- Lunge Pass-Through
- Shoulder Press
- Gorilla Row
- Kettlebell Swings
- Plank Pass-Through
- Single Arm Marches (switch arms half way)
- Cleans
Each exercise lasts 30 seconds, with 15 seconds of rest in between each exercise. The whole thing takes just a little bit over 22 minutes, and I started doing it three times a week. Eventually, I’ll switch up the exercises and maybe even the weight of the kettlebell, but for now, this routine has me feeling strong and energized. I feel like I have a six pack every time I finish, I don’t but it feels like it.
The funny thing is, I remember interviewing Strength Coach and friend, Kristen Bona on my podcast a couple of years ago. She raved about how kettlebell workouts were the best thing ever. I listened, but it wasn’t until I started using them myself that I realized she wasn’t exaggerating.
Kettlebells hit differently. They combine strength, cardio, and core work in a way that feels functional and efficient. I’m hitting every major muscle group: legs, glutes, arms, and core. It’s a true full-body workout.
