Last year, I got to interview Jonathan Jenkins, the mastermind behind Swole On Set. His whole concept is about squeezing fitness into a work setting, especially in production, where the long hours and unpredictable schedules can make working out feel impossible. Since we both work in this field, I was all in on his mission from the jump.
Lately, Jonathan and another coworker, Johnny, have taken it up a notch. They’ve been rallying the team to do pushups at the top of each hour, assuming we’re not busy running around, of course. It’s such a simple idea, but it’s making a real impact on how we move and feel throughout the day.
What’s been really cool about this is that it’s not just about staying active but it’s building the camaraderie among the staff, even from the ones who don’t participate in the pushup challenge.
For me, it’s been a game changer. When I do pushups solo, I usually top out at five. But when we do them as a crew? I hit ten, there’s something about that group energy that makes you want to push past your usual limits.
Swole On Set isn’t just about getting stronger, it’s about proving that no matter how chaotic the workday gets, there’s always a way to move. I love seeing this movement pick up steam, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
